Wedding Invitation Buying - 5 FAQs

When do I need to send out invitations? 

I would always suggest sending invitations at least 6 months in advance where possible. It will help with the planning process, once you have rsvp’s back it will give you a better ideas of the numbers of guests you will be working with. It will also allow guest to reserve the date and to make plans especially if you are getting married aboard! 

If you plan on getting married aboard or plan on having a big wedding or would like friends and family from aboard to attend. 9-12 months in advance is advisable, again this  will help with the planning process for both yourselves and guests.

Do I need save the date cards?

I only think save the date cards are needed if you’re getting married aboard, over a year away, you would like friends and family from aboard to join you. 

How can I save money when buying stationery?

By asking yourself a few simple questions before ordering can save you a few extra  pennies!

How many invitations do i really need? You can send an invitation to a family rather than individuals within one family.

Do you need rsvp inserts? If you would like guest to reply by text or email in most cases I can fit this information in within the main invitation.

Do you need names printed? Invitations can be worded so you don’t have to write names on the invitations just on the envelope, this is a great option if you are not confident about writing names or would like to save yourself some time.

Are envelopes included in the price?

Yes, a standard coordinating envelope is included in the prince, full detail are given of what is included in the prince when you place you order.

You do have the option to change the envelope colour, style or add and envelope liner with some design. This option is classed as a chargeable extra and is not available for every design.

why are embellished design more expensive?

Embellished designs require more time, all embellished design are finished by hand

I purchase all embellishments and supplies from UK retailers, this means I probably pay a bit more but at Gorgeous Creations I believe in buying and supporting local independent suppliers where possible.

Do you do express orders?

Yes, if you have left ordering to the last minute and needed your order in a rush this can be processed for you. I do charge and additional £25.00 for expresss orders (delivery within 10 day of ordering) and orders need to be pain in full.

Best of 2017

In 2017 I made this my mission, to love the life I live and to try my best to live a life I love or at the very least try to create a love I love.  The year was filled with highs and lows all of which I have learnt lessons from and has help me to become a better person in my personal and creative life.

I normally avoid looking a my social statics, I try my best not to get caught up with the numbers game. My best of nine posts according to Instagram pretty much sum up my highlight of 2017... falling back in love with wedding stationery. 

Three outstanding highlights of 2017

1. Relaunching the wedding collection and it being so well received. I have loved working with so many lovely bride and groom at this, every time I get an order it is true I do a happy dance. For me being asked to be small part of someones special day is an honour. 

2. Working on Lydia and Ali Millen-Gordon wedding stationery was a dream come true.  Every wedding is special to me I always try to add a little unique twist to each and every design but working with Lydia really helped me to stretch myself and attention to detail to another level. 

3. Returning customer rate increased this year and I feel very happy when you return for more gorgeous creations prettiness. It make me proud that you like what I do and my service that you would come back for more.

Christmas is coming - 5 things that get me in the festive mood!

I love this time of year, even with the nights getting longer and the chill in the air I will forever be an autumn winter lover. Now Halloween and Guy Fawkes night is behind us I fell I can fully embrace and start the Christmas countdown. 

These are 5 things that get me excited in the Christmas season.

1. Christmas Card

2. Starbucks Christmas Cups and Drinks

I' m not a major coffee drinker but I do like to enter into the sprint of things with a festive flavoured coffee when I am on the post office run or doing a spot of Christmas shopping. Starbucks offers coconut milk as an alternative to dairy and soya so this makes me very happy indeed!  Fudge hot chocolate and the toffee nut latte are top of my list to try but the orange and cranberry cold brew looks very refreshing!

3. Advent Calendars

What more can I say my love of a beauty calendars is a weakness,  both the Molten Brown and L'Occitane would be my dream calendar. On the other end of the advent calendar scale the Haribo advent will be mines this year, I choose sweets over chocolate any day of the week.

4. Cosy Knits

A cosy jumper is top my must haves this season and I have been online stalking a number of jumpers over the past few months. Throughout the winter months you will be guaranteed to find me in the studio in my standard work wear uniform of  a thick knitted jumper and leggings or skinny jeans. I am in love with reds at the moment and it is very festive too!

5. Christmas Movies 

In the UK channel 5 have already stated showing Christmas movies and I couldn't be happier. My favourite all time Christmas films are Elf, The Holiday, Deck the Halls, Nativity and Love Actually.

Wedding Wednesday - The Heartbeat Collection

This weeks wedding Wednesday featured collection is the Heartbeat design, my oldest and much loved design.

I designed this range over 4 years ago and it has consistently been a winner with brides and grooms and forever a best seller. Over the years the collection has evolved and grown making it more appealing to a wider audience. 

Invitations start from £3.00 each for a flat design, £3.60 each for the folded design and £4.00 each if you would like to make your invitations more bespoke and change the embellishment. 

This design is very simple yet effortlessly chic and elegant. Each invitation is hand finished with a  gorgeous crystal encrusted heart embellishment. Invites are digitally printed onto a luxury tapestry textured card stock which adds to the overall finish. 

This design is can be adapted is many ways to make then more unique and personal to your special day. Changing the text colour of the text or using a smooth card stock are design is currently the most popular changes at them moment.
